Week 3

This last week we focused on Father's Day.  We made some awesome gifts :D  I was very proud of how they turned out.  The kids did such a good job!!  The first day, we made a simple card, and then we also painted our feet to make a poster with a Father's day poem.  For our third day we made mugs with handprints, and then on Thursday the kids used markers to make a block of different colors.  Then I used cardstock and cut out the word "Dad" from the middle and put it over the colors - Even though these were pretty simple, they were one of my most favorite things the kids did - they turned out so NEAT!!!  This idea also came from Pinterest I do believe lol.  But I have to modify the ideas to what works for my class and my supplies, just as all teachers do.

One of my little boys drew this for me :D  This is him & I.  I'm on the left (;

I tried to let the kids tell me where they wanted it go over the colors.  I did all of these by hand, which is why they aren't exactly straight.  But this made them all unique, just like the kids.

After I got the letters cut out and everything glued, I had the kids write their names on the front.

These are the Father's Day mugs!!  I was planning on getting white, but ended up with these and used white paint instead.  I used paint pens to write Happy Father's Day, the child's name, and the year.  Then I used a spray sealant - I put on two coats - I don't know exactly how they'll hold up, I've never done it before, but they turned out super cute!!
Just another pic

We got to paint our feet!!!  And it cracked me up because some of them were so tickalish on their feet and they were trying so hard to stay in their seat and not cringe lol.  I also had the students write their names on these, and then laminated them

This was a picture of all of them!

On a side note - I got a Saturday off!!  Woot woot - but only because I asked off for it lol.  Mom & I had a scrapbook day and worked on bookmarks that I'm going to be taking to some VERY special people on the other side of the world in a little over a month!!  I can't wait!!
They turned out SOOOO cute!!  Thanks Mom, You're Amazing!!
