So I'm not a huge fan of the unfamiliar, but I'm finding it to be necessary apparently. (: Life is different not being in college - and to some degree...it's very nice (; So for now I've just been working and filling out applications and cross-stitching...and pretty much anything else I can get myself into I guess. The other day I went to City Hall with some of the young people from my church to help fill backpacks and other things for military kids whose family members have been assigned to be deployed. It feels AWESOME doing something for someone else. (: That was something I wanted to be my goal this year - was to give, and do something for someone else everyday. I've found it to be difficult actually. It's so easy to get caught up in our "own little world"...even when we're busy doing things that have to be done, we forget a very special verse; Acts 20:35 where it states, "it is more blessed to give than to receive". Sometimes (especially when we're not in the habit) it's difficult to have to think of something that you can do for someone else every day. I've tried things as simple as texting; while the biggest thing I've done would probably have to be volunteering for the military kids. But it can also be really fun to think of something to do - cuz to tell you the truth, most of it comes as a surprise to the other person - and it's SOOO cool to see their reaction and surprise :D :D
In the mean time, as I said before, I've been filling out applications. I've already put in an application at Hobby Lobby. I have applications already in for at least 3 different school districts. I'm waiting on one school to get my subbing paperwork done, while I have sub paperwork for two other schools to finish, as well as sub paperwork for a day care to complete, and at the same time, I'm also trying to get another application in for a part-time animal shelter assistant...and for some reason I keep having this feeling that I'm going to end up asking myself, what in the world have I gotten myself into?? I guess we'll see though - i mean, it's not like I'll get hired for every job...right? /: I guess we'll see (: I need some new in my life (:
This is one of the girls from my church that came to help!! She did a good job (:
Here's another picture that includes some of our young people - but it also shows other awesome people who came to help!!
I tend to really like Fortune Cookies - I get the funky ones (; This is my latest one...it makes me laugh! :P
And this is my latest creation!! I meant to make it for my friends - who got married last June, buuuuuutt....let's just say I was running a TAD BIT behind :D I thought it turned out pretty sweet though (; Love you guys!!
